Since the release of KDE Plasma 6, many users within the KDE community have been eager to explore the redesigned desktop environment. The update introduces several visual and performance improvements, but some users also reported encountering bugs shortly after its launch.
During personal testing on the KDE Neon distribution, a few issues became noticeable. One of the most frustrating problems involved shutting down the laptop, where the system occasionally failed to power off properly. In some cases, the only reliable solution was to initiate the shutdown process manually through the terminal.
Another issue appeared on 2-in-1 devices that function both as a laptop and a tablet. The touchscreen keyboard would appear correctly on the login screen, but after logging into the desktop environment, the on-screen keyboard stopped working as expected. Switching between X11 and Wayland did not fully resolve the problem.
Fortunately, there is some good news for users running KDE Neon. In a recent blog post, the KDE Neon development team acknowledged the packaging and update issues experienced by users and issued an apology for the inconvenience.
The developers also stated that they are actively working on improvements and additional fixes to ensure a smoother experience for Plasma 6 users on KDE Neon moving forward.
