Modern devices now come equipped with battery technologies designed to prolong battery life. One such method is the ability to automatically stop charging once the battery reaches 100%, or a predefined limit set by the manufacturer. This feature helps prevent continuous charging—something that often caused battery degradation in older technologies—by cutting off the power flow once the limit is reached.

The Nintendo Switch 2 seems to incorporate a similar power-saving feature. Based on official images shared by Nintendo, the device can stop charging once the battery reaches 90%. This automatic cutoff helps prevent overcharging and can significantly extend the overall lifespan of the battery. You can activate or configure this feature directly through the Nintendo Switch 2’s system settings.

In addition to battery improvements, Nintendo has also expanded its range of profile icons. New characters from popular games such as Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Pokémon have been added. Previously, the system offered a total of 147 profile icons. With the latest update, that number has increased to 258 icons, giving users a broader range of customization options—and the number may continue to grow after this article is published.
